What mailing list data variables are available?
Data variables help you pinpoint your exact demographic and make your mailing list more accurate, which in turn delivers results. So what are some of those variables? Age, gender, geographical location and more, there are so many we need a page to tell you about them.
Geographic Data Selects
Mailing lists require a targeted area. It can be a broad area, such as a county, state or country or it can be hyper-specific using things like the city, zip code or in some instances, neighborhood. Using targeted mailing lists allow you to increase your response rates by focusing on the right audience with the right message.
For instance, a real estate agent may want to focus on getting new listings in a specific neighborhood. After buying a hyper-targeted mailing list, the real estate agent can now tailor the message sent – mentioning the neighborhood and other details to make it more personal. This approach is proven to get a better rate of return.
Demographic Selects
When thinking about your best customer, there may be some things that quickly come to mind. Perhaps your best customers are men, between the ages of forty and sixty. This type of demographic information can be filtered to deliver a list that has only this target group. Knowing who your best customers are is one of the most important aspects to prospecting. Once you have a good idea, then finding a list that delivers that demographic is crucial to getting great results.
We can define a mailing list by any combination of age, gender, income, marriage status, length of residence and more. Each list may contains different demographic information.
Adding Telephone Numbers
You can add telephone numbers to your mailing list to follow up with the list. Studies have shown that making multiple contacts with a prospect is more effective than a single touch point. If available, adding a phone number to the list allows you to make follow-up calls after they have received your initial contact method.
Pricing & Method of Delivery
Pricing will depend on the specific demographic selectors you have chosen. Geographic data is typically not a factor in pricing. For example, if you want to reach all women in Dallas, it would be less expensive than reaching all women in Dallas who are married with at least one child. The price difference may be negligible but pricing is dependent on all of the variables. Adding or subtracting variables or data selectors may impact the pricing.
